Happy 4th Birthday, Bryce

Bryce-man,

You have been waiting to be 4 years old for a long time now and it was fun celebrating the big day with you today. I hope that it lived up to all you hoped it would be. It has been a joy watching you grow into a little boy this last year. You've even managed to design a style that is just Bryce. Your hair, smile, sparkling eyes, probably no underwear, and definitely no shirt is what you love to wear everyday.

This year I've had the joy of watching you continue your love for learning and you've begun asking even more questions about the world around you. You want to read and just might catch up to your older brother before we know it. You still love building things and are very good at it. One of your newest loves is being a big brother to your little sister. Your face lights up when I ask you to help your sister and you LOVE to play with her. You are so sweet with her, even if it means you have to play kitchen or babies. You do it because you are her big brother.

Now don't get me wrong, spending time with Daddy is still your favorite thing to do. Especially if it means the boys are outside. You are a jumping machine on the trampoline, can ride faster than anyone I know on your powerwheel, and love exploring the forest.

Your faith in Jesus is inspiring. You have concluded from all the stories you have learned that Jesus is a super hero and that is all there is to it. I love that about you. You refuse to believe your older brother when he tries to correct you and I pray that your self confidence in your faith NEVER CHANGES. (Jesus is a superhero in my book too.)

You are still my favorite cuddle buddy and get very mad at me if you don't get a kiss goodnight. Even if I'm not home when you go to bed, the next morning I get a scolding for missing our special goodnight routine. I hope that you never get too old to give me my special loves!!! I love you, Bryce!

Happy 3rd Birthday Bryce

I can't believe that you turned 3 years old. You asked today if you can be 3 and 1/2, and I said ABSOLUTELY NOT! You've grown up so fast this year. You're talking so well and so often. Sometimes it's hard to get you to be quiet! I can't believe that last year I was concerned if you were ever going to talk. You ADORE your little sister and take such good care of her. The other day a little toddler walked over and tried to take a toy from sister, you calmly and assertively took the toy back and pushed the little boy to the ground. "Don't be mean to my seeeester" is what you said. It made me laugh, and I was so proud. (You did get in trouble for pushing) You and your brother are best of friends and I pray that friendship continues forever. You are so independent and yet shy and reserved. You won't do something unless you're confident that you can do it well. You get embarrassed easily and although I hate seeing you uncomfortable, I love that you always come running straight to me. You love LOVE learning new things and I hope that continues. I think you want to learn how to read more than your older brother (and you just might). My prayer for you this year is that your curiosity to learn continunes to grow. I pray that your confidence to try new things even if you're not "good at it" increases. I pray that your heart continues to seek justice for those younger than you (especially your sister and future brother or sister). I hope and pray that I continue to see you grow in your faith and love for God. I love hearing you repeat the stories we read with your Daddy each night. You're confidence in what you KNOW about God and Jesus is so inspiring and already I see you one day never wavering about what you know to be TRUTH. You are not easily swayed by others and I love that! Happy Birthday my sweet little bubba. You warm my heart and bring a smile to my face. Middle kids rock and I can't wait to see that personality of yours blossom even more!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my little man, Bryce! I can't believe that it has been two years already. You have been such a blessing to our little family. Such a kind heart, loving attitude, and a sense of humor sometimes only you and your brother understand. Everyday you bless me with your snuggles and loves, what a Mama's boy! Your sweet, calm, and sometimes sneaky spirit brings joy to our family each day! I can't wait to see what this next year holds for you. We love you Bryce!!!
