What's going on?

Greetings everyone, I have been lazy this week with blogging. We have been busy with just "life" and enjoying new adventures. Here are some pics from this last week. Enjoy!
Connor and Bryce playing with magnet blocks, both boys immediately made guns. BOYS! I don't remember Connor playing guns as early as Bryce has, but with an older brother who plays guns all the time I don't think he had a choice.

Connor loves to "read" books to Bryce and Bryce loves attention from his big brother.
The boy's first Oreo cookies! They loved them and were especially excited to find yellow frosting in the middle. (Easter Oreos!)
I love how Bryce tried to stuff the whole thing in his mouth! What a crazy child.

It's a GIRL!

Well the word spread like wildfire(thanks to Adam and his handy dandy iPhone and Facebook) but we are having a girl. I was completely shocked, and made the technician check for us three times. Our daughter’s name is...Alexis Grace McManus. We always just pick a first name we both love and a middle name from the Bible.
I wanted to share with everyone what God has been teaching me these last couple of months and whether or not this 3rd baby was going to be a boy or a girl. I of course wanted a girl in the family. I want a daughter to do all the mother-daughter things with and I looked forward to having an opportunity to raise a Godly woman.
I was very tempted to do all that I "could" to try and get a girl this time. At first I had thought that Adam and I would read up on diets, when to have "business time", what position, and to PRAY a lot. BUT after experiencing a miscarriage last June, God did a work in my heart.
My priorities changed quickly and when we talked about getting pregnant again, I wanted a healthy baby first and felt convicted trying to play the "pick the sex" game. So we didn't, Adam and I did it the old fashioned way. I also felt convicted about praying for a girl, so again I didn't. Instead my prayer became "God I want your best plan and if that means 3 boys then I want 3 boys, if it means 2 boys and 1 girl then I want that." It was a hard prayer to pray at first because my flesh wanted to add, "but I really want a girl".
As I continued to pray this prayer I found God working in other areas of my life. I found myself praying a similar prayer for everything. You see, I am a planner and I want it done my way, but I began to see that God's way was much better than mine. I am still learning this discipline, because it is hard for me. But I felt so great walking into the sonogram room last week, knowing that whether it was a girl or a boy, it was God's best! God is so good! I look forward to see what else God's best has in store for me and my family! God Bless!

Friends

On Friday Connor's great friend Avery came over and played with us. They have a blast together and played so well.
Connor and Avery love books! They took turns holding the book and "reading" stories to each other. It was funny to hear the boy version vs. the girl version of the same book. Connor's books were always short and to the point and Avery's were detailed and twice as long. Ha girls and boys.
What a fun morning. When was the last time you got to just hang out with a great friend?

Family Days

We love spending time together as a family and find it the highlight of our week. This weekend we spent Friday evening at a nearby park on a family bike ride and playing on the playground. Connor did great on the long ride, there was even a lot of turns and hills. On Saturday we hit our favorite spot in town, the Fort Worth Zoo. We are zoo members and just can't stay away. Both boys love animals and this zoo never lets us down. The weather was perfect and the animals were out and very active. Adam was even able to get some work done, Alamofire is getting ready to launch a new game on iPhone called Gowalla and he made a great tour of the zoo.
Bryce was loving the bamboo leaf he found on the ground. He really wanted to show it to the camera.
Yeah the picture is cute, but what was cuter is how Bryce says "Cheese!" That boy melts my heart.
He loves riding on Daddy's shoudlers.

25 random things about me (It's the cool thing to do)

1)I obviously give in to peer pressure. Because I never thought I would do this list and yet here I am. ☹ My husband is very disappointed he hates this “new trend”.
2)I am left-handed, and my left hand thumb is fused which means it is practically non-plausible. Yup I am now part ape and possibly the missing link.
3)I make up words all the time. See #2. Is non-plausible a word?
4)I hate onions, like a really really really lot. I will pick them out of any dish no matter where I am. I love “lays sour cream and onion” chips, I am odd.
5)I technically met my husband and love of my life on the internet, before it was cool.
6)I used to be scared of clowns but have successfully worked through it.
7)I have had more then 3 concussions. I am kind of accident prone. If there is a way to get hurt doing something, then I will do it.
8)I collected clowns when I was little because of #6.
9)My first car was a ’69 Chevy ¾ ton pickup truck. I drove it into a tree the first week I got it, because I was attacked by a bee. That truck didn’t even flinch, but the beautiful chrome bumper didn’t make it.
10)I do everything heads on and give 125%. I love life and will try everything once.
11)I am allergic to bees, see #9.
12)I have broken a lot of bones and had too many surgeries to count because of #10. I even take RA medication and one day will receive a full knee replacement.
13)I have eaten a whole can of Spam (including the gel around the edges) because of some lame-o youth game. I am sure we won because of my awesome performance.
14)I can quote most lines from “Son in Law”, “The Goonies”, “The Princess Bride”, most Disney cartoons, and “Steel Magnolias”
15)I am a champion leg wrestler. Doubt me? I will take you on and win, even with the knees from #12.
16)I have surfed, rock climbed, snow boarded, snorkeled, water skied, scuba dived, white water rafted and will try any other extreme sport.
17)When I was little I wanted to be a cartoonist for Disney and practiced all the time. I still love to draw, but never do it.
18)My legs and arms are mutant long and I have trouble finding clothing that fits correctly. I have to buy men long sleeve shirts or wear women long sleeves like quarter sleeves. Don’t get me started with pants, “tall” is never tall enough for me. I frequently buy the bigger size to get the longer length.
19)I have lived in 6 states, 5 being in the south and 1 in the north. And yet if you ask me I will say that I am a northerner through and through.
20)I stick my foot in my mouth more than I want to and try to work on not doing it.
21)I fell all the way down the “famous” DC capital steps when I was in HS. See #7.
22)If I wear any sort of heals I am taller than Adam. See #18.
23)I have “almost” died many times. My near life death experiences are much cooler than almost car wrecks too. Ask me sometime, they are great stories.
24)I am secretly competing with myself to see how quickly I can give birth. My record is 2 hours with only 2 and ½ minutes of “actual” pushing. (Not sure if beating that record would be wise)
25)I can’t brush me teeth without getting toothpaste all over my mouth and I can’t blow my nose quietly. I have tried to brush and blow my nose politely but it’s impossible.
